The operational phase of construction has officially begun on the first IY 11.98 units, part of a five-boat order designed to ensure continuity and further development of the sailing training activities of the Italian Navy.
Marking this important milestone was the visit to the shipyard by the Italian Navy commission, led by Admiral Roberto Bottazzi Schenone. The Admiral’s presence, together with the commission, underscored the institutional significance of this phase and provided a valuable opportunity to review and refine the first key construction details.
Daniele De Tullio and Fabio Pignatelli, alongside the Italia Yachts technical team, were pleased to welcome the delegation and present the design solutions, construction choices, and technologies adopted for the project. The meeting highlighted the strong alignment between the parties: on one side, cutting-edge engineering and continuous research; on the other, a deep respect for maritime tradition and the core values that define the Italian Navy.
