Great satisfaction for Raimondas Šiugždinis (LTU) who, at the helm of Arabela, IY 11.98, claimed first place in the Corinthian ranking of the ORC World Championship Class B and finished fifth overall. Arabela never dropped below ninth place throughout the seven races sailed, showcasing skill and composure even in the most demanding sea conditions.

On the third step of the Corinthian Class B podium stands Ain-Eke Jalasto aboard Fanatic 2 (EST), also an IY 11.98. A home team, Fanatic 2 treated us to truly unusual images, capturing moments of relaxation and fun during the windless pauses.

The Championship, just concluded in Tallinn, Estonia, proved extremely challenging both for the weather and sea conditions – ranging from flat calm to 25 knots with heavy seas – and for the very high technical level of the competitors.

In Class C, the most crowded division, Sugar IY 9.98 of Ott Kikkas with Sandro Montefusco at the helm closed the series just shy of the podium, only one point away from third place. Unfortunately, a tenth-place finish in the second offshore race – a non-discardable result – weighed heavily against an otherwise excellent scoreline.
