Massimo Romeo Piparo and Andrea Neri finalists for FIV Sailor of the Year

Congratulations to Andrea Neri and Massimo Romeo Piparo for making it to the finals of the 30th Sailor of the Year FIV (Italian Sail Federation) . Neri, aboard Italia Yachts 15.98 Nessun Dorma, clinched the Barca dell’Anno 2023 - Trofeo Confindustria Nautica for triumphing in the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers – ARC Plus division. Slicing through 2,234 nautical miles, Neri and crew dashed to Grenada in 11 days and 18 hours, claiming victory after conquering the first leg from Las Palmas to Gran Canaria to Mindelo (865 miles). He’s the inaugural Italia Yachts skipper to seize this race, backed by his crewmates Andrea Casale, Enrico Zennaro, Sandro Chersi, Marco Furlan, Nicola Caffi, and Paolo Persini. Meanwhile, Massimo Romeo Piparo at the helm of Guardamago II, Italia Yachts 11.98, stands tall as a finalist for the BPER Banca trophy honoring the year’s finest Owner/Skipper. After stacking an impressive array of titles, Piparo’s 2023 crowning achievement came with the Italian Absolute Offshore Sailing Championship victory, clinched at the Marina di Carrara battleground. This triumph marks just four years at the helm of Guardamago II, fueled by a passion ignited in Piparo’s youth along the shores of the stunning waters of Messina.
