IY on the racecourses: a season to remember

The winter season ends on a high note for Italia Yachts, with its boats stealing the spotlight across Italy. From the 9.98 to the 11.98, including the 10.98, the shipyard’s models once again prove to be winners on every racecourse.

Taranto – IY 11.98 on Top of the Podium. Total dominance for We Try by Giancarlo Nolè and Vincenzo Ricciuti who, in their debut race aboard an IY 11.98, won the Taranto Winter Championship with 7 victories and 3 second places out of 9 races. They closed with just 9 points, leaving the runner-up 6 points behind: an impressive debut, worthy of applause

Down to the Wire: Geex vs. M.ART. A fierce battle between Geex, IY 11.98 by Angelo Lobinu, and M.ART by Edoardo Lepre. Both teams finished tied at 16 points after 9 races, but Geex emerged as the overall winner, topping the leaderboard and showcasing the incredibly high level of competition. A few missteps in R6 and R7 made it close, but Geex confirmed the strength of both the boat and crew.

Tigullio – To Be Never Gives Up. In the Tyrrhenian Sea, To Be by Stefano Rusconi secured second place in the Tigullio ORC Class B Winter Championship, after an impressive 16 races where it never placed worse than fifth. The team finished with 24 points, just 5 behind the winner and tied with third place. A display of top-tier consistency

Circeo – Joshua III, a Solid Performance. Joshua III, the IY 10.98 by Giuseppe Gubbini and Piergiorgio Saviano, took center stage in the Circeo Spring Championship. Racing double-handed (DH) in a fleet of fully-crewed boats, they finished second overall after five coastal races. A true team achievement.

151 Miglia Winter Series – Birba 3 Untouchable. A stellar run for Birba 3, the IY 9.98 by Francesco and Tommaso Marcaccini, who won the 151 Miglia Winter Series in Class C with 7 points and a 10-point lead over the runner-up. And that’s not all: they took second place in the Upper Tyrrhenian National Championship, tied with Dolcenera, and clinched the Gavitello d’Argento – Challenge Trophy Bruno Calandriello in tandem with another IY. A season to remember.

Genoa and Capo d’Orlando – The Lion Roars. Farfallina 3 by Davide Noli, IY 9.98, brought home the win at Genoa Sailing Week, confirming the reliability and speed of the model. Similar story for Guardamago 3 by Massimo Romeo Piparo, who dominated the Winter Championship at the Capo d’Orlando Yacht Club.
