For Italia Yachts it is an honour to have seven boats competing in the ORC World Championship being held in Kiel until 12 August, representing five countries. IY 11.98 Sugar 3 (Est) owned by Ott Kikkas, skipper Sandro Montefusco racing to defend the title, Arabela (Ltu) owned by Raimondas Siugdzdinis, Stony VIII (Den) owned by Mads Christensen, Rhino (Ltu) owned by Saulius Pajarskas, IY 9.98 Immac Fram (Ger) owned by Kai Mares, Patent 4 (Ger) owned by Jurgen Klinghardt, Madonna (Swe) owned by Per Ovren. The start was not one of the best, the wind conditions and above all the sea at the limits for the safety of boats, equipment and teams gave, yes, spectacular images, but the competitions were conditioned by the safety of vehicles and people. After alternating results Sugar 3, on the fourth day is on the third step of the podium "The conditions today were very good for our Italia 11.98," commented Sandro Montefusco helmsman of Sugar 3. "We started well and then it was easy. We didn't like the coastal races very much, the courses were not easy for our spinnaker," he added. Sugar 3 now sits in third place, six points behind the reigning Class C world champion team and the current class leader.
