The launch of nextGen, the new IY 9.98, is approaching. Designed to combine advanced technology, high performance and sustainability, the yacht will soon debut on the racecourses of the Champions Cup, the ORC World Championship and the Italian Championship.
The project is the result of extensive engineering development aimed at maximizing performance. Hull and appendages have been optimized through advanced simulations and continuous refinement of the VPP (Velocity Prediction Program), improving the yacht’s competitive potential within rating rules.
nextGen also integrates fiber-optic structural monitoring systems that analyze loads on appendages and main structures in real time, providing essential data for performance analysis, safety and ongoing optimization while sailing.
Innovation also guides the construction process. Hull and deck are built using recyclable resins and recycled PET sandwich cores through a single-phase infusion process that reduces waste and emissions while creating a lighter and stiffer structure.
Through the GeneSys system, every yacht carries a digital record of its construction “genetics”, reflecting a vision where technology, speed and environmental responsibility move forward together.
