She is an Italia Yachts 9.98, sails under the Belgian flag, and with her owner Dirk will line up at the IRC European Championship in Bonifacio, Corsica, from October 4 to 12. The team’s determination is clear from the intensive training sessions underway in Riva di Traiano, with Paolo Bucciarelli acting as coach.
“Although the whole crew is new to me, I’m very pleased with the progress we’re making on board, and I feel lucky to be sailing with many young and talented sailors,” says Bucciarelli. “The owner is a well-known racing car driver, and his sensitivity at the helm is immediately evident on the water.
Personally, I come more from the ORC environment, but the pursuit of speed in sailing is a universal concept. With a well-trimmed boat and solid training sessions behind us, we’ll give it everything to secure a strong result.”
