The 2026 Edison Next Italian Offshore Sailing Championship has come to a close in the waters of Gaeta, marking one of the most prestigious events of the ORC racing season. This year’s edition featured highly technical and closely contested racing until the very last race, with an exceptionally competitive fleet in which Italia Yachts emerged as one of the event’s leading protagonists.
A total of seven Italia Yachts boats competed in the championship, a clear testament to both owners’ confidence in the brand and the competitiveness of the yard’s designs on the racecourse.
The Italia Yachts fleet delivered outstanding performances, claiming four of the six overall podium positions across the championship classes, as well as two additional podium finishes in the Corinthian category.
Among the standout achievements was the victory of To Be, the Italia Yachts 11.98 owned by Stefano Rusconi, which secured the title of Italian Offshore Champion in Group 1 – Class B. In the same class, Guardamago 3, the Italia Yachts 11.98 owned by Massimo Romeo Piparo, finished second overall and claimed first place in the Corinthian division.
In Group 2 – Class C, Sarchiapone Fuoriserie, the Italia Yachts 9.98 owned by Gianluigi Dubbini, earned an excellent second-place overall finish, while NextGen, the Italia Yachts 9.98 owned by Michele Vitulano, completed the championship in third place after remaining in contention for the title until the final race. Another strong performance came from Lady Day 998, the Italia Yachts 9.98 owned by Corrado Annis, which finished second in the Corinthian category.
The Italia Yachts fleet at the Championship was completed by We Try and Geex, bringing the total number of Italia Yachts competing in Gaeta to seven.
