Four top finishes in the inshore races of the 72nd Loro Piana Giraglia 2025 are a source of satisfaction and pride for Davide Noli and the IY 9.98 Farfallina 3 team “but nothing compares to our sixth place in the offshore race, the true Giraglia,” comments Davide Noli. “Out on the racecourse in Saint-Tropez, I faced competitors I often sail against in Liguria, so we already knew them well. Of course, the boat performs beautifully, when we got hit with 30 knots of wind on the last day of the inshore series, we really made the difference: the boat kept moving fast even with sails that were practically blown out. We also took second in class in the offshore. Scricca was unbeatable, but on the first night they gained the upper hand by heading further south and finding more wind” Noli adds.
Now, a new chapter begins for Farfallina 3 as she enters the summer cruising season with the family. “A week right away, and then more days later in the summer. That’s the beauty of owning such a versatile boat it gives you real joy under sail, even when cruising,” concludes the owner.
