Once again riding the crest of the wave. Vincenzo Ricciuti and Gerardo Nolè, sailing as We Try IY 11.98, claim victory at the Ionian Autumn Championship, confirming their status as one of the most compelling teams on the local racing scene. “We approached it as a real training programme,” says Gerardo Nolè.
A test passed with flying colours, now opening the way to more ambitious goals: the Italian Championship and the World Championship in 2026. The team will remain unchanged, with the possible addition of a navigator for offshore races.
We Try’s story is concise yet striking: just over a year of focused work, a close-knit group of friends, and steady improvement, boosted by the presence on board of Alessandro Cortese, whose deep knowledge of the boat proved crucial in refining performance. “Today we are friends who race, enjoy sailing, and achieve results. And then there’s the post-race moment, which is part of the game,” Nolè concludes, already looking ahead to the continuation of the championship in Taranto.
A clear course ahead, with the wind firmly on their side.
